Lanvin

In many ways, Lanvin is a classic Parisian fashion house. With a long, storied history of craftsmanship and traditions, its couture heritage is now in the hands of the renowned and beloved Alber Elbaz. The same goes for its menswear line with Lucas Ossendrivjer who adds another creative layer to Lanvin: innovative fabric technology. Ossendrivjer likes to fuse traditional silhouettes with modern materials in his sartorial laboratory, making the Lanvin look contemporary yet classic.

The Spring Summer 2013 outing from Lucas Ossendrivjer testified to a harsh and sleek sartorial vision. Keeping the tension between high-tech details and classic shapes, the Dutch designer showed traditional tailoring mixed with hooded tops and zip-detailed shirts. The colour palette was monochrome, though in between the white, grey and black shades the odd splash of colour found a way in. Tucked-in leather tops and biker jackets added to the rough aesthetic, which had a whiff of the 80s about it with skinny ties and pleated trousers. True to the glamour of Lanvin's catwalk aesthetic, several garments came with snakeskin details.

Inspired by guest lecturer, designer Joe Casely-Hayford, Ossendrivjer formed a new collective called “Le Cri Néerlandais” along with his contemporaries, Viktor Horsting and Ralf Snoeren.
